B.S.Meter

This is the type of app that has always made me crazy. It’s the type of app where I know I’ll never use it more than 20 seconds at a time, but still may be worth some home screen real estate.

To  be quite honest I never thought I would actually use it. That was until today, when I was out at lunch with a friend of mine. He was telling me some bogus story about how he really was going to pay me back for lunch this time. Not that I really cared, but I thought I’d use this B.S. Meter as a fun way to call him out on it. So I pulled out my iPhone and told him, “Would you like to try telling that to the B.S. Meter?” So as he told me why he really would pay me back, this time with the B.S. Meter out, he listened to it beep faster until the unmistakable “Moo” sound of a lie.

We both ended up getting a good laugh out of it. Just to clarify, the way this app works is that you go to the Meter screen, hit scan, and swipe your finger towards either the Bull or Truth. It was a fun way to call him out, but not recommended for any serious situation.

So that is the conundrum. Do I spend a dollar to get an app I’ll use on a very rare occasion? While I did have fun calling out my friend on his cheapness, my usual answer, is a resounding no. But hey, if you like these rare occasion apps, go for it.

    Heh, looks pretty funny, but I doubt I’d ever use it.

    I bought this one and I probably won’t use it every day, but it will stay on my iPhone for a laugh when the time is right. It looks really cool and works well.

    I love it. I think they’re going to make more sounds and stuff for it. When they do it’ll be sweet.
