B-Day Giveaway: Stick It – iPhone Sticky Notes
Michael (Admin) | Jul 30, 2009 Utilities

I reviewed Stick It back in June and, lo and behold, I actually found myself using it a week or so later while I was running around with a to-do list as I was moving out of my Chicago apartment.
If you’re in the habit of unlocking your iPhone to access lists and notes and whatever, Stick It could become your new best friend. All you need to do is make your notes which you save as an image, then set the image as wallpaper, and it really does make things way easier!
Tapfactory Apps already has an update in the works to make Stick It notes editable and easier to use.

B-Day Giveaway: Ranch Rush
Michael (Admin) | Jul 30, 2009 Games

I’m a sucker for cute cartoon girls! T.J. reviewed Ranch Rush less than two weeks ago and had some fun helping Sara and Jim save their ranch from being taken over by corporate bastards.
Great production values can be hard to come by for $2 so if you’re into farm girls and multitasking this one should be a no-brainer!

B-Day Giveaway: iShot Machine, Part 1
Michael (Admin) | Jul 30, 2009 Lifestyle

If the bartender at your local watering hole knows you by name, chances are you’ll get a lot of mileage out of iShot Machine. Oasys Mobile put up a bunch of codes for it last month when I gave it half a review and they got snapped up quickly!
There are LOTS of shot recipes in this app, and some of them are just hilarious. If you miss out on this round of codes, round two will be coming shortly. If you miss out on those, just pay the buck! Consider it part of your booze budget which, let’s face it, is basically unlimited.

B-Day Giveaway: Christmas C@rds
Michael (Admin) | Jul 30, 2009 Utilities

It’s a little early for emailing Christmas cards around, but when the time comes you’ll definitely want this app!! I dunno why it says “no ratings” on my App Store price image, but this app has earned a legitimate 3.5 star average and it’s worth every penny of the $1.99 asking price.
Hot Chili Apps does cards right. I loved this app last year, and I’m sure I’ll love it again this year.

Problem solved?

Well apparently there are so many people trying to access the site today that the hardware just can’t keep up so I’ve doubled the RAM… *fingers crossed*
B-day Giveaway: Air Mouse Pro
Michael (Admin) | Jul 30, 2009 Utilities

When Chris J. reviewed Air Mouse Pro back in April, I didn’t see much use for it personally… but that’s changed!
The screen on my old piece of crap Toshiba laptop died, but the rest still works so I kept it and hooked it up to the 19″ flat panel TV in my bedroom. I don’t use it much right now, but football season is coming up fast and I plan on spending no less than eight hours in bed every Sunday with Air Mouse Pro navigating my three fantasy leagues while I flip between TV and PC during commercial breaks.
Air Mouse Pro incorporates both keyboard and mouse which leaves plenty of room for beer & chips on the nightstand. Sweet!!

Patience is a virtue

Dangit!! I shoulda seen this coming. WordPress seems to be freaking out when everybody flocks to a page to grab codes… tech support is on the case and should hopefully have a solution or at least something to ease the pain.
Please bear with me! In the meantime, let’s move on to the next app and see what happens…
B-Day Giveaway: Tetravex, Part 2

Wow, I was gonna wait 20-30 minutes before posting this next round of codes but the first set went so fast, might as well go ahead and do it now! This app was reviewed way back in August 2008 – feel free to share your thoughts on it after giving it a try~

B-Day Giveaway: Tetravex
Michael (Admin) | Jul 30, 2009 Games

Let’s get this party started!
This app’s a major blast from the past - I reviewed Tetravex about two weeks after starting iPhone App Reviews.net and I still suck at it.
Tetravex is a really challenging puzzle game where you have to arrange colored blocks on a grid. The concept is really pretty simple, but instead of me trying to explain it you should just watch the video demo below!
It’s a fun game, especially if you have a brain and enjoy using it.

Let's fire this thing up!
Whoa dude… it’s been a whole year already??!!
Geez I guess so! It was one year ago today that I kicked off iPhone App Reviews.net with a short review of Cyrus Najmabadi’s Now Playing, a free app that started out as a simple movie theater guide and has since added DVD release info and Netflix support to its arsenal of movie tools.
IAR has changed, too… this used to be a lonely and somewhat pathetic one-man shop, but traffic started growing and Apple invented promo codes and before long I had assembled a crack team of app reviewers that includes Swain, Chris J., Chrisa, and T.J., to name a few. Ok T.J.’s pretty new, as in last-month new, but when he writes he just doesn’t stop!!
The IAR review team is awesome and I feel incredibly lucky to have all these iPhone-wielding wordsmiths onboard, so hey guys if you’re reading this… THANKS!!!! You guys rock in a super huge way.
And another big Thank You is in order for all you wackjobs out there who read our ramblings and keep coming back for more!!
We’re gonna spend the day celebrating with a ton of promo codes that have been very graciously donated by the developers of a whole mess of our favorite apps from the past year.
I’ll be posting them throughout the day (starting when I wake up, hopefully around 10 am Chicago time) so if you miss out on something, be sure to come back and make a grab for something else! And if you tell enough of your friends about iPhone App Reviews.net, we just might make it to Birthday #2 next year

Site traffic has grown EVERY month for the past year and we even surpassed 1,000,000 pageviews... thanks for making IAR such a success!
