I don’t entirely understand what this app is all about, but suffice it to say that you’d most likely be into it if you’re a Muslim or are interested in Islam.

App Sale: Holiday Smash
Michael (Admin) | Dec 3, 2009 App Sale Alert, Games

Holiday Smash is on sale for free – normally $1.99
‘Tis the season to… download all the Christmas-themed apps that descend upon the App Store at this time of year! Holiday Smash is basically a jacked up version of Breakout, and the stuff you’re breaking is all in the shape of various holiday things like snowmen and Christmas trees. Your paddle moves left and right with finger drags, and it also shoots lasers! So even when your balls are flying around (powerups make multiple balls possible) your lasers will be hard at work as they hack away at the stuff floating above.
Sea Lion Games just released this app the other day at $1.99 and immediately dropped the price to free, so who knows if it’ll actually go back to costing money. Either way, it’s free right now and it’s not bad! Kids tend to get antsy this time of year, so even if you’re not a fan of this kind of game yourself it could at least serve as a distraction for the little monsters in your life.

App Sale: kgb Answers
Michael (Admin) | Dec 2, 2009 App Sale Alert, Utilities

kgb Answers is on sale for free – normally $.99-$1.99
Chances are you’ve seen the commercials where people ask wacky questions and this hot lady shows up with some dood and they give the answer. The core service asks you to text your question to kgb and they’ll give you an actual answer for a dollar, and this iPhone-ized version is basically the same thing except you’re submitting your question via the app.
So if you have to pay for answers, why does this app usually cost money? Uhh… I have no idea! It provides three free answers so there’s definitely some value in getting this app, but personally I think it should always be free since it’s basically a sales tool to get you to start leaning on kgb’s “Special Agents” for the knowledge you crave.
So far I’ve used only 2 of my 3 free answers and I’m somewhat impressed with the result. Apparently an actual person reviews your question and finds the answer for you… my first answer didn’t take too long, maybe a few minutes… and even though it wasn’t exactly the answer I was looking for, I like that the response was real and not some canned garbage from a program running an algorithm.
If kgb’s commercials have you curious as to the quality of their responses, try this app and take them for a test drive. Again, though, I think kgb Digital Media would be wise to keep this app free forever.
- Naturally my question is small and self-serving! But still something I want to know...
- AWWW SNAP! That's what I get for slacking lately... but I'm working on ways to get more content to you, our loyal readers
Dayyyyaaaaamn, kgb lady’s got a hot body!
App Sale: Billionaire
Michael (Admin) | Dec 2, 2009 App Sale Alert, Games

Billionaire is on sale for free – normally $.99
If you like Tetris, then I think there’s a good chance you’ll like Billionaire… it’s pretty similar, but instead of trying to fit blocks together you’re basically doing a match 3 thing where you have to match up falling jewels.
The action is a little slower than I’m used to for this kind of game, but it’s tricky enough that you’ll eventually appreciate the moderately lazy pace at which the gems are falling. Shen Marshall has built in a good set of options that allow you to adjust game control, background, music, and a couple other game attributes.
At this game’s normal price of a buck I’d say that’s about right, but it’s even better when it’s free! If you miss out on the sale, there’s also a free lite version.
