Rage of Witches ($0.99) by Nob Studio

I was in the mood to try something totally brainless… and I found it! Frankly I should have reviewed this app a week ago when witches and zombies were still in season, but since Nob Studio submitted this app on November 3rd that didn’t happen. Eh oh well.

So how do you play this game? Tap until your finger goes numb! The idea is to protect the poor peasants from all the scary weirdos that keep popping up out of nowhere. Zombies, witches, skeletons, ghosts, it’s kind of like Halloween is projectile vomiting all over the peasants you’re charged with guarding.

Rage of Witches features three game modes, all of “witch” look and play more or less the same. One aspect of the game that I like is that you get help! Help comes in the form of exploding toads, knights that go around killing stuff for you, and some wizard-looking guys who have various abilities such as freezing everything on screen.

I may not be a fan of mindless, endless tapping but… if people are willing to download apps where all you do is pop bubble wrap then there probably is a personality type that would enjoy Rage of Witches. The graphics are decent and the action does get pretty frantic, but this genre just ain’t my thing.
