Don’t Run With a Plasma Sword ($0.99) by XperimentalZ Games
Available on iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad
Made in the form of a side-scrolling runner, Don’t run with a plasma sword is a delight to play and watch. Boss fights, a levelling up system, perks, easy-to-use controls and an interesting backdrop make this title an addictive app. In the same category as ‘Jetpack Joyride’ and ‘Monster Dash’, ‘Don’t run’ treats users to a story mode and endless mode, both of which are enjoyable ways to play the game.

Slideshow+

Slideshow+ ($1.99) by Socusoft
Available on iPhone & iPod Touch
There’s probably a billion slideshow apps in the App Store, but this is the first one I’ve ever tried. With that said… this one’s pretty good! From the first time I opened the app I probably could have made the video below in about five minutes if I hadn’t been screwing around and tinkering with all the tools it offers for fancying up photo slideshows.
Slideshow+ lets you import photos from your camera roll, Facebook, Flickr, or Picasa and you can add tunes from the Music app (formerly known as the iPod). It’s super easy to get things started and slap together a quick video, but doing things like moving photos around and adding title slides is more difficult.
This slideshow uses Slideshow+’s Classic Theme with random transitions throughout

Fling a Thing (Free) by Big Blue Bubble
Available on iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad
Many moons ago I reviewed Big Blue Bubble’s Elven Chronicles and Home Sweet Home, so I was already familiar with BBB’s work when I picked up Fling a Thing. These guys do quality work, and I wasn’t disappointed with their latest offering where you fling this alien-looking “thing” up into the air with the aim of popping bubbles and grabbing bonuses as you fling your way upward through the levels.
