For the past few days IAR has gotten a bunch of review requests for iPhone 4 LED flashlights, apparently a booming market in the app store. Unfortunately, I don’t have the means to acquire Apple’s latest gadget, so I’m going to be giving away the promo codes in the comments for all you lucky iPhone 4 owners.

LED Flashlight, only for iPhone 4

The Flashlight App (For some reason, the iTunes Link Maker was screwing up on this one and wouldn’t give me the link. But rest assured, it’s a flashlight app.)

Probably one of the most unique apps I’ve came across in a while, Descent is a freefall calculator able to offer “the most accurate possible representation of the time it would take to freefall to the earth’s surface and the speed you would be traveling upon impact”. Sweet.

Well, the app’s description is in it’s title. Kickabout is a fun, polished casual game where you have to keep a soccer ball/football in the air for as many kicks as you can. While usually a dollar, Co-incidence Ventures Ltd has been nice enough to provide some free codes to give some lucky readers a free go at this game.

Holy Robinator!

I’m rather fond of cheesy little ‘shout a catchphrase’ apps, and there is no better way to end a Tuesday than to give out a bunch of free codes for the amusing Holy Robinator! by Little Bird Applictions.

Holy Robinator! comes with 60 wildly amusing “Holy” statements, all of them soundbites of classic Batman and Robin episodes. Ranging from “Holy contributing to the delinquency of minors!” (a personal favorite) to “Holy rats in a trap!” to “Holy schizophrenia!”, this app is chock full of giggle-out-loud sound bytes. Enjoy your Tuesday :D (Holy chocolate eclair!)

Invaders World Tour

If you’re old enough to have loved (and possibly still love) Space Invaders and Galaxian, then Invaders World Tour should bring back some nice, greasy, zit-faced memories!

MeYuMe’s old-school arcade revival combines elements from two of gaming history’s most classic titles… bug-eyed aliens line up across the sky in nicely organized formations, and some of the aliens will occasionally fly down to try and kick your ass. Your little spaceship guy at the bottom of the screen is accelerometer-controlled, meaning that you have to tilt left and right to keep it from getting blown up, and just like in Space Invaders you get three shield barriers to hide behind when things get too hot to handle. Shooting the aliens down is as easy as tapping anywhere on the screen. The “World Tour” part of the game comes in the form of different backdrops for each stage that represent various locales like USA, Canada, France, and England. If you fail to clear a stage, the place you’re defending gets blown to bits by those naughty aliens.

Well it looks like the LED Football sale is over :( but touchGrove was kind enough to toss IAR a few codes for LED Soccer! In fact, the LED Football sale was kind of a promo tie-in deal for getting the soccer game off the ground… I think they wanted me to tell everyone that when Football was still on sale but I’m an idiot… ehhhh so anyhoo…

Five codes are listed below and, as always, please be kind enough to (a) leave a comment if you get a code, and (b) leave a review in iTunes so the developer has some feedback to work with.

Bubble Trouble

Bubble Trouble can be described by one word: addictive. This app by XWUZ Entertainment my sport a $2.00 price tag, but is well worth every cent. It is a game with a simple objective: get rid of as many shapes as possible.

The way that this task is accomplished is by clicking groups of three or more of the same shape/color. When you do this, they disappear. You get to keep going until you run out of moves, and then the spaces are filled up with more shapes, and a new level is started. You keep going until the entire board is filled up and no more moves are possible. It may seem easy, but as you advance through each level, more shapes are added slowly until you are dealing with at least five!

This game has cute arcade, style graphics and an easy way to navigate through the game. It even provides you with the instructions whenever you launch the app, so that if you give it to you friend to play, you won’t have to explain. I have played a game similar to this with the exact same objective; however, whenever a space opens up, the stacks of shapes squish together to close the gap. I would have been able to get more points if this was true in this app, but the fact that it doesn’t do that adds the difficulty of the app.

This app is also very child friendly. It has no violence, gore, blood or any of the “bad stuff.” Plus, it allows you to randomly click on things that aren’t pairs (if on accident or not) and not dock any points. I really liked this feature because it made me remain sane when I couldn’t find the last group of three (the game does not start a new level until all existing groups of three or more are gone).

Overall, this is a fun game and well worth your $2.00. It’s easy to learn and hard to put down, so if you are looking for something new to freshen  up your iPhone, check out Bubble Trouble in the App Store.
