Tic-Tac-Toe Update (Reandevou Software)
Michael (Admin) | Aug 8, 2008 Games, Updates

When I reviewed this version of Tic Tac Toe the other day it was free! I don’t think any Tic Tac Toe game is worth $2.99… maybe $.99 would be ok, but personally I’d rather play on a cocktail napkin and spend my 3 bucks on something I can’t do with pen and paper.

Hangman
Michael (Admin) | Aug 8, 2008 Games
Do you care about graphics and sound? Do you care if your hangman game looks like it was created for an Apple ][ rather than an iPhone? If you answered NO to both of these questions, JamSoft's hangman is for you!
On the plus side, this hangman game is so simple an unborn fetus could play it. Seriously, it could. And they also try to give you a break by building the gallows first before drawing the usual hangman starter, the head.
Go on, install it. When you're bored you're bored.
- Hangman's graphics are state-of-the-art... preschool art
- I was hung! Like a horse
- Short words look easy but they're actually harder
- When hanging is imminent there's always the Solve button

PegJump
Michael (Admin) | Aug 6, 2008 Games

PegJump is the iPhone version of one of those ancient games you typically find shoved in the back of a drawer at your grandma’s house. Cavemen first played this game on a wooden triangle with holes all over it, and each hole had a peg. You start by taking out one peg wherever you want, but for the rest of the game you can only remove pegs by jumping over them with adjacent pegs. If that sounds confusing, you’re probably too stupid to play PegJump and should install Tic-Tac-Toe instead.
Seriously, this game is hard. It’s very winnable and an entire game can easily be over in a minute or less, but if you’ve never played before it’ll probably take you 15-20 tries before you finally win by having only one peg left on the board. Seventy Nine Lines has done a really nice job of keeping the game simple and it plays just like it should, so you’ve got no excuses.
My only real criticism of PegJump is that every time you start a new game it reminds you to begin by removing a peg… this gets just a little annoying after 30 losses in a row… but other than that the game is solid and some would even call it addictive. Try it out and see how much quality gameplay you get from PegJump versus other games with fancy sounds and graphics and all that. You might be surprised at how good this game really is.
- Just in case you can't remember the intricate web of rules that govern PegJump
- Sigh... thanks for telling me this valuable info... AGAIN...
- I'm a loser both figuratively AND literally
- Hint: leave vibrations turned off unless your goal is to get annoyed
- If you solve the puzzle in less than 30 sec. you automatically become a member of Mensa, just show them your screenshot
- Early peg game, circa 600 B.C. Excavated in 1928 from Central Mesopotamia dig site

Tic-Tac-Toe
Michael (Admin) | Aug 6, 2008 Games

Reandevou Software did a pretty nice job of adapting the classic dying-of-boredom Tic Tac Toe game for use on the iPhone, but believe it or not there are three things I would like to see added: first, an undo button. I don’t have “fat fingers” but plenty of others do, and it would really suck balls if you’re about to win and you accidentally hit the wrong square.
The second addition would be an option to turn off the sound. The sound on this game isn’t terrible and I know you can just turn down the iPhone’s volume, but then you can’t hear incoming phone calls if you put the game down for a minute.
Third addition, not so important but nice to have, would be adding tie games to the record tally.
So that’s about it! Install it just in case you get caught in a moment of excruciating boredom and you’re tired of all your other fancy iPhone apps.
- Hooray you won at Tic Tac Toe, the award ceremony will be at 7 pm
